Sitting in the bleachers at my daughter’s ringette training while a preteen (13 at most) hockey team warms up behind me.

The crass, over-sexualized comments being directed at the ringette girls are horrifying.

Even worse, a group of their dads nearby are laughing along.

It’s an unfortunate reminder that misogyny and the degrading of women are still embedded in parts of junior hockey culture—and sometimes even celebrated.
