A douchy populist bemoaning some non-existent Canada to hide his blatant racism and xenophobia.

The problem with populists is their obsession with a mythical or overly romanticized past. What they claim is “lost” often still exists—it’s just obscured by the narrow, often racist and xenophobic lens through which they view the world.

Populists thrive on dehumanizing, blaming, and dividing people—like the “They” in this post, blamed for killing Canada.

The most dangerous populists are the evangelical kind. Hiding behind faith, they often act with cruelty, vengeance, and even violence.

Words like “boofhead” and “spiflicate” are definitely underutilized in modern English. 📝
